Turn any recording into chords — automatically.
Stop guessing what you played. MuseMemo analyzes your take on-device and lays the progression out as a chord chart over a measure grid, with the key and tempo detected for you.
A real chart, not a guess
Chords are placed on a measure grid with beat ticks and downbeats, and color-coded by how confident the analysis is. Adjacent repeats merge into one box, and box widths track how long each chord actually rings — so the chart reads the way the music feels.
- ✓108 chord templates — triads through maj7, m7, dom7, sus, dim, aug
- ✓Key & mode across all 24 keys, with mid-song key-change detection

On-device, the moment you stop
Analysis kicks off automatically when you finish a take and runs in the background — no servers, no spinner waiting on a network, no audio leaving your phone.

Nothing to configure — record, stop, and the chart appears.

All processing is local. No uploads, no accounts needed to analyze.
Editable
The chart is a draft. Fix any chord, then build a clean lead sheet from it.

Transcribing your own demo by ear is slow, and most "chord finder" tools want a polished studio track. MuseMemo is built for the rough capture — the phone take, the loop pedal idea, the late-night voice memo — and gets you a usable chart in seconds so you can keep writing. When it's ready, send it onward as a ChordPro, MIDI, or Ultimate Guitar export, or shape it into a performable lead sheet.
Frequently asked questions
How accurate is the chord detection?
MuseMemo scores the audio against 108 chord templates (12 roots × 9 qualities, including maj7, m7, dominant 7, sus2/sus4, diminished and augmented) and tags each chord with a confidence level. High-confidence chords show in full; less-certain ones are flagged so you know where to listen again. Because every chord is editable, you always get the final say.
Does it detect the key and tempo too?
Yes. It estimates the key and mode using Krumhansl-Schmuckler profile correlation across all 24 keys, detects tempo from onset analysis, and even flags where the key changes mid-song. If you record against the metronome, the tempo and time signature are captured as exact ground truth.
Do I need an internet connection?
No. All chord, key, and tempo analysis runs on your device after you stop recording. Nothing is uploaded.
Can it transcribe chords from an imported file?
Yes — import a WAV or AIFF file and MuseMemo analyzes it the same way it analyzes a fresh recording.
