The app
All audio recording, playback, and analysis in MuseMemo happen on your device. The app makes no network calls to analyze your audio: chord, key, and tempo detection run locally. MuseMemo has no servers and does no server-side processing — your recordings are stored on your device and in your local backups, and they are never sent to us or to any third party.
If you turn on iCloud sync (optional, off by default), your recordings and their metadata are also stored in your own private iCloud account so your other devices can use them. Only you can access that data — we cannot see, receive, or process anything you sync.
You don't need an account to record, analyze, or export. When you choose to share or export a file, it goes only where you send it through your device's standard share sheet or save panel.
MuseMemo includes no in-app advertising and no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. Your purchase is processed by Apple or Google under their respective terms and privacy policies; we do not receive your payment details.
Microphone
MuseMemo uses your microphone only to record and to power the live tuner, and only while you are using those features. Audio captured by the tuner is analyzed in real time for pitch and is not saved.
This website
This marketing website is separate from the app. Unlike the app, it uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand which pages and links are useful — for example, which features visitors read about and which download links they click. This involves cookies or similar identifiers.
We use this data only in aggregate to improve the site and our messaging. If you are in a region that requires consent for analytics cookies, we honor the consent choice presented to you. You can also block analytics with your browser's settings or an extension, and the site will work normally. To opt out across sites, install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
